The 5 Most Productive Ideas For A Public Transit Commute

When you travel by mass transit, you can spend your commute time doing the things that really matter to you!

Mass transit has trade-offs. It costs less money, but getting places can take longer. Then again, there are great things to do with that extra time!

There’s a lot of talk about the dangers of distracted driving these days. We’re just not that good at multitasking, so when we drive a car to work, that’s about all we can safely get done.

If you commute by mass transit, though, your time isyours! Here are 5 of the best things to do with that time.

1. Make yourself something.

We loved reading about Redditor “alkikat”, who crocheted her own wedding dress during her morning bus commute over a five-month period!

2. Communicate creatively.

One of our favorite examples of a better commute is the blogger October Jones. He uses his time to create happiness, whether he’s turning his fellow commuters into cartoons or spreading positive attitudes.

3. Read.

Of course, there’s always reading! We keep a Pinterest board with suggestions for what to read on the bus. What would you add?

4. Sleep.

Need we say more? Just try to stay in your own personal space. Unless, like this woman, you’re creating art.

5. Meditate.

You may have heard about the benefits of being more mindful throughout the day, but have you set aside time to meditate yet? Your commute is the perfect opportunity. Here are 8 easy steps if you’re not sure how to get started.
